Example text

Tables, indexes, text, ntext, and image data can be associated with a file group, in which case all their pages will be allocated in that file group. Log files are never a part of a file group. Log space is managed separately from data space. Files in a file group will not autogrow unless there is no space available on any of the files in the file group. There are three types of file groups: Primary. The primary file group contains the primary data file and any other files not put into another file group.

This model is based on real-world scenarios, which consist of basic objects known as entities and how these entities are connected with each other, which constitutes the relationships. A representation of this concept is known as an ERD (entity relationship diagram). Lets take a simple example of a database for a bookstore. Book titles and authors are two entities in it (among many others). The relationship between authors and books is that many authors can write one book and one author can have several books.

CD-ROM drive Microsoft does not ship software on floppy disks anymore, so a CD-ROM drive is needed to install SQL Server. If you do not have a CD-ROM drive on the server, you may use a shared CD-ROM drive from another machine on your network. However, performance will suffer as the result of the information being read off the CD-ROM drive and being sent through the network to the destination machine. This may also cause a significant hit on the network resources if the connection to the network is slow.
